Christmas Holidays sneek peek

Saturday is our Christmas show! YAY! CHRISTMAS! We have a wide variety  of Christmas songs to dance to this year. Fully loaded show with so many songs, too many to count, well not really, just a lot!

One dancer didn't want to do the traditional Christmas song but still found a delightful one that will stuck in your head! It's been covered by many artist in the past. Come Saturday, December 12th, at 7pm slt to see the dancer and listen to the song!

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
"Snowbird" is a song by the Canadian songwriter Gene MacLellan. Though it has been recorded by many performers (including Bing Crosby and Elvis Presley), it is best known through Anne Murray's 1969 recording, which—after appearing as an album track in mid-1969—was eventually released as a single in the summer of 1970. It was a #2 hit on Canada's pop chart and went to #1 on both the Canadian adult contemporary and country charts. The song reached #8 on the U.S. pop singles chart, spent six weeks at #1 on the U.S. adult contemporary chart, and became a surprise Top 10 U.S. country hit as well. It was certified as a gold single by the RIAA, the first American Gold record ever awarded to a Canadian solo female artist. The song peaked at #23 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2003 it was an inaugural song inductee of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Anne Murray and Gene MacLellan had met while both were regulars on the CBC television series Singalong Jubilee and Murray recorded two of MacLellan's compositions: "Snowbird" and "Biding My Time" for her first major label album release, This Way Is My Way recorded in 1969. Murray would recall: "Gene told me he wrote ["Snowbird"] in twenty minutes while walking on a beach in PEI."

The theme and approach broadly resemble that of the earlier hits "Message to Michael" (a.k.a. "Kentucky Bluebird" in hit versions by Lou Johnson and Adam Faith) and "Yellow Bird" in contrasting the narrator's being stuck in the place of his/her heartache to the bird's ability to just up and fly away. "Snowbird" sold well over a million copies and was recently picked as 19th on the 50 Tracks: The Canadian Version list, a partially populist approach to defining the most influential songs by Canadians.

(from songfacts)
On the 2013 Family Guy episode "Chris Cross," Stewie and Brian travel to Canada to find out the true meaning of "Snowbird" from Anne Murray (who provided the voice for her character). When Stewie finds out that she didn't actually write the song, he forces her to perform it at gunpoint while bound and gagged.

This was used in the 2004 Malcolm in the Middle episode "Victor's Other Family." It was also featured in the 2007 thriller Zodiac, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr., and in the 2009 romantic dramedy He's Just Not That Into You, starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, and Drew Barrymore.

Night Players Sneek Peek

Out Night Players show is TONIGHT! Our Friday shows are at 8pm slt, a late night if you will for all of us, but it's worth the wait. If you didn't see the show this past Tuesday, have no fear, it's the same dances with a few new ones mixed in! So here is a little sneek peek for one act!

If you are a fan of Prince and the movie Purple Rain then you know this song quite well. Lilangel is coming to show us her moves with this tune.

Here are some movie facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
"Darling Nikki" is a song produced, arranged, composed and performed by American musician Prince and originally released on his Grammy Award-winning 1984 album, Purple Rain. Though the song was not released as a single, it gained wide notoriety for its sexual lyrics and in particular a reference to masturbation. Partly because of the lyrical content of "Darling Nikki", Tipper Gore founded the Parents Music Resource Center,[1][2] which eventually led to the use of "Parental Advisory" stickers and imprints on album covers.[3] Compared with the slick production of the other songs on the album, "Darling Nikki" was deliberately engineered to have a raw, live feel.

(from songfacts)
When Tipper Gore (wife of former US vice-president Al Gore) heard her daughter listening to this song, she became outraged and started the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) to fight against offensive lyrics. Led by the wives of US politicians, the PMRC got hearings on the issue where musicians like Frank Zappa, Dee Snider and John Denver spoke against any form of censorship in music. Tipper was vilified by many people who supported the right to free speech, and no laws were passed restricting lyrics. The controversy did lead to a voluntary system where record labels put warning stickers on albums containing explicit content. In 1991, when Walmart announced they would not sell any albums with warning stickers, many artists began releasing both clean and explicit versions of their albums.

The Foo Fighters released a new version of this in 2003, although Prince wouldn't let them release it in the United States.

Lack of updates

We find the lack of updates disturbing to the force... no wait that's Star Wars... well real life has hit some of us and well it doesn't give us the time to do update or post, booo.

We were disappointed earlier this week when we were all set to run our Night Players show Tuesday when the dj's music program decided it didn't want to work. No other dj as around to ask for help either so we canceled the show. Have no fear we are doing it twice next week. Twice, twice?! Yes, we'll have two Night Player shows next week. Not to forget to mention our regular Saturday shows.

We are doing two Paramount shows this month. Thanksgiving holiday in America is coming up soon and instead of working we'll be eating! And just thinking about dance. December is looking to be the same way, too. Two Paramount shows due to Christmas. Christmas is more important to us anyway.

We hope to see some if not all of you this Saturday for our new show, Paramount Rocks! One guess as to the theme on this one... and it's not about those rocks on the ground...

Night Players sneek peek

Out Night Players show is just a little more than 24 hours away! Where ahs the month gone?! Some acts will be in the theme of Halloween. So here is a little sneek peek for one act!

If you are a fan of the movie Halloween and the theme song, you just might enjoy this version as well. This dancer always looks forward to watching this movie or at least some parts every year. The original first one, she finds the best. Might be a bit hard to find facts about the song so I'll find some about the movie! come to the Night Players theatre, Friday, October 30th at 7pm slt!

Here are some movie facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
Halloween is a 1978 American independent slasher film directed and scored by John Carpenter, co-written with producer Debra Hill, and starring Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis in her film debut. The film was the first installment in what has become the Halloween franchise. The plot is set in the fictional Midwestern town of Haddonfield, Illinois. On Halloween night in 1963, a six-year-old Michael Myers dressed in a clown costume murders his older sister by stabbing her with a kitchen knife. Fifteen years later, Michael Myers, age 21, escapes from a psychiatric hospital, returns home, and stalks Laurie Strode and her friends. Michael's psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis suspects Michael's intentions, and follows him to Haddonfield to try to prevent him from killing.

Halloween was produced on a budget of $300,000 and grossed $47 million at the box office in the United States, and $70 million worldwide, equivalent to $250 million as of 2014, becoming one of the most profitable independent films. Many critics credit the film as the first in a long line of slasher films inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960). Halloween had many imitators and originated several clichés found in low-budget horror films of the 1980s and 1990s. Unlike many of its imitators, Halloween contains little graphic violence and gore. In 2006, it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Some critics have suggested that Halloween may encourage sadism and misogyny by audiences identifying with its villain. Other critics have suggested the film is a social critique of the immorality of youth and teenagers in 1970s America, with many of Myers' victims being sexually promiscuous substance abusers, while the lone heroine is depicted as innocent and pure, hence her survival. Nevertheless, Carpenter dismisses such analyses. Several of Halloween‍ 's techniques and plot elements, although not founded in this film, have nonetheless become standard slasher movie tropes. Halloween spawned seven sequels and was rebooted by Rob Zombie in 2007. The first sequel to the original movie, Halloween II was released in 1981, three years after its predecessor.

Frightfully Delightful sneek peek

Our Halloween show is fast approaching and it's time to give you all readers a sneek peek into what a couple is dancing to on stage Saturday.  Yup this Saturday, we have two dancers, dancing to...  Sonny and Cher's, I Got You Babe. Come to see this... adorable... frightening... scarey... ?... couple Saturday, October 31st at 7pm slt! HALLOWEEN! YAY HALLOWEEN!

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
"I Got You Babe" is a 1965 song written by Sonny Bono, the first single from the first album, Look at Us, of the American pop music duo Sonny & Cher. In August of that year the single spent three weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States where it sold more than 1 million copies and was certified Gold. It also reached #1 in the United Kingdom and Canada.

In 2011, the song was named as one of the greatest duets of all times by both Billboard and Rolling Stone magazine. It was also listed at #444 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2004.

(from songfacts)
Sonny Bono was an up-and-coming record producer when he got Cher a job with Phil Spector as a session singer. They started dating and moved in to their manager's house. Bono would write songs on a piano in the garage. He came up with this tune and wrote the lyrics on a piece of cardboard. Cher didn't like it at first, but Sonny changed the key in the bridge to fit her voice and she loved it.
Ahmet Ertegun was their boss at Atco Records. He didn't think much of this song, so he put it on the B-side of "It's Gonna Rain." Los Angeles radio station KHJ started playing "I Got You Babe" after Bono brought them a copy and it became a huge hit.

This wasn't an anti-war song, but it went over well with the Hippie crowd because it stuck up for guys with long hair when Cher sang, "Let them say your hair's too long, I don't care, with you I can't go wrong."

In 1985, UB40 covered this with Chrissie Hynde doing the female vocals. Their version hit #1 in the UK and #28 in the US. Sonny & Cher's original version was the first record UB40's Ali Campbell ever owned.

Need a dance venue?

If you are a dancer and want a place to express yourself, try the Night Players Theatre located on the Paramount Grand grounds.

Night Players was built for those dancers that want to do more than dance, maybe put on a play or read poetry. Some one who wants to tell jokes or just plain dance naked on stage. Yes, Night Players shows do have nudity and sex on stage, tastefully, not porn. We are not a strip club, man’s club - that’s not what Night Players was built for.

Night Players will have some acts that are similar to what we do at Paramount - but it will also feature acts that are more - Avant Grade - acts that stretch our creative wings - - push our boundaries.

We have shows twice a month, sometimes three. Second Tuesday of the month at 6pm slt and the last Friday of the month at 8pm slt.

If YOU are a dancer or know of a dancer that may want to dance at Night Players Theatre, please contact Pathmaker Resident and/or Lotta Difference by notecard. Or drop by the theatre and drop off the notecard in the mailbox!

Buried Treasures Sneek Peek Part 2

Buried Treasures is a dancer's choice show, not about pirates.... but we have got a wide variety of songs this month!  One more show this Saturday the 17th, BUT have no fear, we come back for HALLOWEEN!

Here is another sneek peek for you all to enjoy. If you haven't seen the show, come on by for some topless girls! *laughs*... who would put such a thing on stage? Paramount of course... and well our owner, Path. He knows you won't mind a bit.

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
"Self Control" is a song by American singer Laura Branigan, released as the lead single from her 1984 third studio album of the same name. Written by Giancarlo Bigazzi, Steve Piccolo and Italian singer Raf, the song was first recorded by Raf in 1984, Branigan recorded the same song later that year as well for her third studio album. Branigan's version first hit no. 1 in Germany on June 15, 1984. Raf's version first hit no. 1 in Italy on June 23, 1984. Both versions of the song were popular across Europe during much of the summer of 1984 and were the most successful single of the year in Switzerland. Branigan's version peaked at no. 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and also went to no. 2 on the dance chart.

The song has become one of the defining songs of the 1980s, with a number of remakes recorded each year. Notable covers include Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin in 1993, a hit dance remake by Branigan in 2004 and two 2006 versions that hit the Top 5 in various European enclaves, by Danish dance group Infernal and Spanish singer Soraya Arnelas.

The song narrates the singer's slip into the world of nightlife, the allure of which has it "livin' only for the night" and deeming itself to "live among the creatures of the night". Rather than actually invoking more self-control, the singer repeatedly declares to a phantom protagonist that "you take my self, you take my self-control".

(from songfacts)
This song was first released in 1983 by the Italian composer and singer Raf (Raffaele Riefoli), who wrote it with Giancarlo Bigazzi and Steve Piccolo. His version was a low tempo ballad with Disco-Techno-Pop features, and was an early use of synthesizers.

In 2006, the Spanish singer Soraya Arnelas released a version in her album Ochenta's (Eighty's). Also in 2006, the Danish dance group Infernal recorded this. (thanks, joan - Alcarras, Spain, for above 2)

Buried Treasure Sneek Peek

Buried Treasures is a dancer's choice show, not about pirates.... but we have got a wide variety of songs this month! Only two shows on the 10th and 17th, BUT have no fear, we come back for HALLOWEEN! YAY HALLOWEEN!

It's never too late for a sneeky peek!! We have a few new dancers to show off this month. They have selected a song from Maroon 5. So time for a little sneek peek!

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
Shortly after its release, "Maps" quickly reached number one on the Billboard Twitter Real Time Trending 140 chart, eventually staying within the upper ranks for several hours. The song also logged close to 1,800 first-day spins on radio which, according to the Nielsen BDS, would amount to a one-day audience impression of seventeen million. It has since peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. It reached its million sales mark in August 2014[8] and had sold 1.6 million copies by the year's end.

The single debuted at number two on the UK Singles Chart in late August 2014.

As "Maps" topped the eight biggest music charts in South Korea, Maroon 5 became the first foreign artist to top several charts at the same time in Korean music history.

(from songfacts)
The song finds Levine singing about retaining hope for a relationship despite his girl abandoning him when he was going through a tough time.

The song's music video was directed by Peter Berg, who is best known for helming the films Friday Night Lights and Hancock as well as his acting role on the TV series Chicago Hope. He also previously directed Maroon 5's visual for "One More Night."

The clip follows a backwards narrative format, as it recounts the death of Adam Levine's girlfriend after getting hit by a car in Los Angeles. The storyline is inspired by the 2000 film Memento.
The song was brought in by Tedder and Blanco. Guitarist James Valentine told Billboard magazine it was, "just sort of workshopped" into its eventual form. "It really has those elements of The Police that have always been a huge, huge influence on us," he said. "We're usually trying to do stuff that sounds contemporary but is still classic. I mean, everybody says that. That's what they're always going for. I think that song sort of achieves that, at least in my mind."

Saturday Sneek Peek

Two more shows on Saturday! Funny Bones is a great show and you don't want to miss. Sure some acts aren't funny, some or all, are just awesome!

So time for a little sneek peek! This Players decided to get into her, fur and do something... Peanuts related. Come to the show and find what all that means!!

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
"Bad to the Bone" is a song by George Thorogood and the Destroyers released in 1982 on the album of the same name. While it was not a major hit on initial release, its video made recurrent appearances on the nascent MTV, which was created a year before. Licensing for films, television, and commercials has since made "Bad to the Bone" better recognized.

(from songfacts)
This is based on the Bo Diddley Blues song "I'm A Man." Thorogood is influenced by The Blues, and Diddley is one of his heroes. Thorogood's version has a much heavier guitar sound, which replaces the harmonica in Diddley's recording. Both songs are full of swagger, with the singers exuding lots of testosterone.

The phrase "Bad To The Bone" means there isn't a bit of good in him. Other songs have been published with that title, but Thorogood popularized it and created a modern Blues classic with this song. Some artists to cover it include The Countdown Singers, Molly Hatchet and The Starlite Singers. Hip-Hop artist Tek did a rap version of the song.

With MTV coming on the air in 1981, Thorogood picked a good time to release a memorable video. The clip showed Thorogood playing pool against Bo Diddley in a place where there was no chance of a dance sequence breaking out. Pool champion Willie Mosconi also appears in the video, which introduced Thorogood - and to some extent, Diddley - to the younger MTV crowd. Among the British New Wave acts that dominated MTV playlist at the time, Thorogood certainly stood out, and he created an image of a bad man. While Thorogood is a disciple of the Blues, he was raised in a Delaware suburb and by most accounts is actually a pretty nice guy, despite what he claims in this song.

This song was featured in the film Terminator 2: Judgment Day when Arnold Schwarzenegger steps out of a bar wearing biker clothes. It also appears in the movies The Parent Trap, Major Payne, Christine and Problem Child. (thanks, Ricky - Los Angeles, CA)

FUNNY BONES TONIGHT!

ALL ARE INVITED!!

Come join us for an evening of classy but sassy entertainment as we the PARAMOUNT GRAND THEATRE, the Paramount dancers dance for you September 12th at 7pm slt, in our new show, Funny Bones.

Humor is the tendency to provoke laughter and provide amusement. The term derives from the humoral medicine of the ancient Greeks, which taught that the balance of fluids in the human body, known as humours, controlled human health and emotion.

People of all ages and cultures respond to humor. Most people are able to experience humour—i.e., to be amused, to smile or laugh at something funny—and thus are considered to have a sense of humour. Though ultimately decided by personal taste, the extent to which a person finds something humorous depends on a host of variables, including geographical location, culture, maturity, level of education, intelligence and context.

Night Players Sneek Peek

Night Players show is tomorrow! New show with new acts!

So time for a little sneek peek! this player decided to go a little...dirty....

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
"Dirrty" is a song by American recording artist Christina Aguilera featuring rapper Redman, taken from Aguilera's fourth studio album, Stripped (2002). The song was written by Aguilera, Redman, Jasper Cameron, Balewa Muhammad, and Dana Stinson and was produced by Stinson under his production name Rockwilder and Aguilera. It is a hip hop and R&B track which talks about sexual activities.

(from songfacts)
The extra "R" in the title is intentional. Nelly did the same thing earlier in the year on his hit "Hot In Herre" and the rapper Chingy did it in 2003 on "Right Thurr." The bonus letter is supposed to emphasize the title, not just screw up our spell-checker.

The song didn't get a lot of radio play, but the video did very well. It was #1 on MTV's Total Request Live, and most likely responsible for sending more than one adolescent directly through puberty.

Night Players Sneek Peek

Last show of the month is coming Friday night. Where has the month gone?! Well while things are trying to cool off, Night Players is gonna heat it back up! Tomorrow night, one of the Players is going to do a lil... Tom Jones....

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
"Sex Bomb" is a 1999 song recorded by Welsh pop singer Tom Jones. Performed in collaboration with producer Mousse T., it was released in May 2000[1] and became the biggest single from the album Reload. It reached #3 in the UK Singles Chart. The "Peppermint Disco Mix", a club version with house music beats, contains a sample from "All American Girls" by Sister Sledge and has been used as the opening theme song of the WB Network television series Grosse Pointe. A jazzier "swing version" appears in Mousse T.'s solo album Gourmet De Funk.

(from songfacts)
The song was used in The Simpsons episode, "C.E. D'oh" when Homer accidentally gives Maggie the song for bedtime. (He'd intended to play it for Marge for Valentine's Day).

August Sneek Peek Part 4

It's that time gain where Paramount gives you readers another sneeky peek at Saturday's show. This performer will take you on a trip to a retirement home?! Yup, she's bringing a few friends to help clean the place...and dance...

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from songfacts)

Funk legend Bootsy Collins helped write this song and played on it. Collins played bass for George Clinton's Parliament/Funkadelic, and has worked on many side projects, including The Bootzilla Orchestra and Deee-Lite.

The video was directed by Spike Jonze, who, among others, has worked with R.E.M., Weezer, and Soundgarden. He directed Fatboy Slim's "Praise You" video in 1999.

The video features Christopher Walken dancing. Walken is famous for playing an evil psycho in movies like True Romance, The Deer Hunter, Sleepy Hollow, and Pulp Fiction, which made for a very interesting video because it turns out Walken is a great dancer. He danced in musicals at the beginning of his career. Mickey Rooney's son Michael was the choreographer.

The video won six MTV Video Music awards: Breakthrough Video, Best Direction, Best Choreography, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography.

August Sneek Peek Part 3

It's that time gain where Paramount gives you readers another sneeky peek at Saturday's show. Apparently our performer went digging into some old movies and found this gem.

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
"Here She Comes" is a song recorded by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler for the soundtrack to the 1984 restoration version of the 1927 German film Metropolis. It was released in 1984 by CBS Records, written by Giorgio Moroder and Peter Bellote, and produced by Moroder. Tyler re-recorded the song on her 2004 album Simply Believe.

The song charted highest in Austria, peaking at number 13. At the 27th Grammy Awards, "Here She Comes" was nominated for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, marking Tyler's third and final Grammy nomination of her career, following her two nominations in the previous year.

August Sneek Peek 2

So it's August, still, HOT, BLAH.... I thought it's about time for another sneek peak! Anything Goes is the theme, so... anything can be done by any dancer! THIS dancer went to an island to cool off...

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)

"Message in a Bottle" is a song by English rock band The Police. It was released as the lead single from their second studio album, Reggatta de Blanc (1979). Written by the band's lead singer and bassist Sting; the song is ostensibly about a story of a castaway on an island, who sends out a message in a bottle to seek love. A year later, he has not received any sort of response, and despairs, thinking he is destined to be alone. The next day, he sees "a hundred billion bottles" on the shore, finding out that there are more people like him out there.

Rolling Stone ranked it number 65 on its list of the "100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time".

(from Songfacts)
This song is about a guy stranded on a remote island. One day he finds a bottle, puts a message in it and throws it out to sea in hopes that someone will find it and come save him. The lyrics can be seen as a metaphor for being lonely and realizing there are lots of people just like you. (thanks, Sid - Bryson City, NC)

This was the first UK #1 hit for The Police. Their first two albums were much bigger in their native England than in the US.

Sting performed this with No Doubt at halftime of the 2003 Super Bowl between the Bucs and Raiders. No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani came out and sang with him about midway through. Stefani inducted Police into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later that year.

August Sneek Peek

So it's August, we have a new show coming this Saturday! Anything Goes is the theme, so... anything can be done by any dancer! One particular dancer picked a James Bond theme song. She loves it, she just had to dance to it!

Here are some song facts for you to enjoy...
(from Wikipedia)
"Skyfall" is the theme song of the 2012 James Bond film of the same name, performed by English recording artist Adele. It was written by Adele and producer Paul Epworth and features orchestration by J. A. C. Redford. Film company Eon Productions invited the singer to work on the theme song in early 2011, a task that Adele accepted after reading the film's script. While composing the song, Adele and Epworth aimed to capture the mood and style of the other Bond themes, including dark and moody lyrics descriptive of the film's plot.

"Skyfall" was released at 0:07 BST on 5 October 2012 as part of the Global James Bond Day, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of Dr. No, the first James Bond film. The song quickly went to the top of the iTunes chart, and reached number two at the UK Singles Chart and eight on the Billboard Hot 100. Reviews were positive, with the song being compared to Shirley Bassey's Bond themes, and "Skyfall" became the first Bond theme to win at the Golden Globes, the Brit Awards and the Academy Awards. During the 85th Academy Awards, Adele gave her first live performance of the song.

(from songfacts)
Adele's theme song is the first to carry the same name as the Bond movie since Madonna's "Die Another Day" in 2002.

Daniel Craig admitted to Yahoo that he found himself coming over a bit emotional when the song was first played to him: "I cried," the James Bond star said. "From the opening bars I knew immediately, then the voice kicked in and it was exactly what I'd wanted from the beginning. It just got better and better because it fitted the movie. In fact the more of the movie we made, the more it fitted it."

Oh what a night

Boy last night was one of those nights you dread in a Second Life dancing performance...

Everything was fine before the show, dancers we there caching dances, waiting and chatting, greeting the audience... inviting more people... sam (the music program some dread to use from time to time to stream music) was just fine before the show....

Then 8pm slt happened... we were to start the show 4 minutes later when sam decides to go into repeat/preview mode. It played a song for 30 seconds and then played another. It was doing it in alphabetical order at least. Path was the dj and was I'm sure swearing at the computer program with some choice words. After 15-20 minutes of freaking out (I certainly was)... our Paramount DJ Rebecca stepped in the help! Meanwhile Queenie and I tried our best to keep the crowd entertained while waiting. Thank the SL gods for Rebecca! Path quickly started sending her the music and she was setting up as fast as she could. 8:30pm, we were finally ready to start the show.

Jag's act went just fine and then Gracie took the stage... Her hud decided to work, when it wanted to! So she looked like she was pausing quite a lot. I was able to snap one good shot of her in a move though! Yay! Lilangl was our special guest, BUT.... it was her turn to feel the wrath of sl. Her set wouldn't rezz right, I know she was disappointed... maybe even more than us not being able to see it! I was up next with Queenie and I went through just fine. My prayers were answered.

Path took the stage next, while his clothes didn't want to unrezz it went quite well! Queenie was next with her awesome "Ulay Oh" act (quite the artistic act to see).. and the show was almost ready to end. Ariel strapped Path to a cross for the final act as she danced around with her flogger. Sounds odd doesn't it! Not for Night Players!

Pictures can be seen on the performance page 2!

You know the best part of it... the crowd stayed...through it all. We certainly appreciate that more than anything!

SHOW TONIGHT!

                                           ALL ARE INVITED!!

Come join us for an evening of classy but sassy entertainment as we the PARAMOUNT GRAND THEATRE, the Paramount dancers dance for you July 18th at 7pm slt, in our new show, Heroically Mischievous.

This month we venture into the world of heroes and villains. That could be just about anything and anyone! From Batman to Superman, and Conan mixed in!

A hero or heroine is a person or character who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, displays courage or self-sacrifice—that is, heroism—for some greater good. While a villain or villainess  is an "evil" character in a story, whether a historical narrative or, especially, a work of fiction. The villain usually is the antagonist (though can be the protagonist), the character who tends to have a negative effect on other characters.

July's 1st Sneeky Peek!

First sneek peek of July! Our  new show is fast approaching and will be heros and villians!! One of our dancers did a WONDERFUL number to Woman Woman's theme song. I believe this is the song she used (I can't confirm right now)... if it's not, it's still a great song!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrVNFyLHnEg

Wonder Woman Facts:
Wonder Woman was partly a response to the rise of the Nazis
The first comic book superhero, Superman, hit the stands in 1938. But shortly thereafter, comics came under fire: critics said Superman could be interpreted as a fascist—an all-powerful ubermensch that would have a negative influence on American children. (Remember, the rise of the superhero coincides with the rise of Nazi Germany.) Parents demand that the books be burned.

Wonder Woman was designed as a feminist icon
Anyone who has read Wonder Woman comics will be able to recognize the feminist underpinnings of her story. But readers probably don’t know that Marston broke from the rest of popular culture by asserting not only that kids would be interested in reading a comic about a woman but that she would be essential to their education in teaching them about gender equality.

Wonder Woman has run for president in the comic books twice
Wonder Woman ran for office in a comic book written by Marston in 1943, and then again in a cover story in Ms. magazine in 1972. She didn’t win either time. Maybe she should try for 2016.

You like sailing, sailing in the nude even, it's a great area, I'm not sure how many sims you can sail through, but they are all connected, all lovely!

Here are some pictures from the party....
